Epiphany

The restaurant is co-owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Alberto and Michele Mastrangelo. Epiphany is all about having an experience where fresh foods are prepared with a precise attention to detail. The cuisine is New American and the menu changes every other month to keep the kitchen inventive and its patrons anxious for the new creations. New dishes are a collaboration of the entire kitchen, where they use a team approach, which provides a sense of pride and ownership amongst the staff. Once inside the restaurant, the stylish décor sets the mood, which is both inviting and intimate with brick archways, red velvet partitions, and a rich mahogany bar. Alberto’s story is one reminiscent of earlier generations for he came to the United States from Montevideo, Uruguay with $100, a backpack, and big dreams without being able to speak English. His first experience was working at an espresso stand, and he eventually worked his way up to the prestigious Bice Corporation, which owns 47 Italian restaurants worldwide. Wanting to start their own restaurant, Alberto and Michele moved to Aspen, where they happened to meet Kevin Costner and became friends immediately. Back in 1998, he and Kevin talked about starting a restaurant together. Their talk became a reality, and we are the fortunate benefactors. Epiphany serves only dinner up to 10:30 p.m. and has a bar menu until midnight on Friday and Saturday. The full bar serves until 2:00 a.m. and they offer catering as well.
